For many years Altech Environmental has been assisting a number of Toronto-based manufacturers to apply for annual rebates under the City’s Sewer Surcharge Rebate (SSR) Program. Under the SSR Program, if water is consumed in the manufacturing process and not returned to the sewer over a specified threshold of the facility’s total water use, then the facility qualifies for a rebate. Rebate applications must be stamped by a Professional Engineer. Since 2008, Altech Environmental’s clients have received over $5 million in rebates under the program. Many other municipalities across Canada offer similar rebate programs that the Altech team can assist with.
